After analyzing the project brief, the next step is to move onto idea generation and research. To generate ideas, I like to go on Pintrest and find images and Gifs that look interesting as well as look at artists/animators/game developers on Twitter. Things I find that I like, I put onto a large Trello board in the hope that something will spurt some creativity.

One piece that really caught my eye when I looked at my Trello board when coming up for ideas for this project was the below Panther jump. I liked how it was a really simplistic idea yet looks so seamless and clearly shows off the animators skill.

One thing that causes me a bit of fear in animation is doing locomotion, more precisely, realistic weight transfer and clean looking cycles. Due to this, an idea I have is to focus on this for my hero piece, creating a bunch of locomotion animations for different sized creatures. This would help to improve my confidence in this area whilst also helping me to gain a portfolio for more creature based work which could help with getting a job at a studio like Creative Assembly or Frontier which do a lot of creature work (Planet Zoo and Total War: WARHAMMER II 2 for example).
