After speaking to my lecturer about the workload for this hero piece, he suggested that I scope down the project a bit and remove the rider that was supposed to go atop the creature and instead only include it if I have extra time. Another thing he advised me to do was to come up with a personality for the creature to help me animate and get into how it acts.

The creature’s personality will be aggressive, primal, and cares only for survival. If it were in the wild, it would live in solitude due to its hunting style of stealth, similar to a panthers. It is very fast but can only run for short bursts. It exists in the prehistoric era along side dinosaurs. Whilst smaller than one, its favourite meal is a resting Pteranodon of which it kills by sneaking up during the night and uses it high speed to grab onto it as it attempts to flee. It has a rather reptilian like form and so should have a slightly reptilian like attitude to suit it.

Lion analysis notes - center of mass is at the front of the body and so the legs must compensate for that - notice how the lions paws fold inwards when they are brought to the front of the body. Takes a lot of the weight of its front-pedal movement in its shoulders of which can be seen by its large shoulder muscles moving up and down.
